Understanding Game Mechanics
Hero Wars revolves around two main combat systems: Heroes and Titans. Heroes are used in most game modes including campaign, arena, and guild wars. Titans are specialized units used primarily in the Dungeon and Guild Wars.
Key Resources to Focus On:
- Gold: Essential for hero upgrades, skills, and gear. Primary bottleneck in mid-game.
- Energy: Used for campaign battles. Collect free energy 3 times daily.
- Soul Stones: Used to unlock and evolve heroes and titans.
- Emeralds: Premium currency. Save for events and energy purchases.
The key to successful progression in Hero Wars is understanding where to invest your limited resources. New players should focus on building a core team of 5-7 heroes rather than spreading resources too thin.
Hero Selection & Team Building
Choosing the right heroes is crucial for your progress. While the game offers 50+ heroes, you'll want to focus on building a balanced and synergistic team of 5-7 heroes initially.

- Astaroth: Excellent protection, resurrects fallen allies
- Aurora: Great against physical teams, dodge tank

Top Damage Dealers

- Chaos Meta Team: Astaroth, Peech, Kayla, Aidan and Fafnir
- Dodge Team: Aurora, Dante, Octavia, Heidi and Nebula
Team Building Principles
Effective teams typically include:
- 1 Tank: Front-line hero that absorbs damage and protects the team
- 1-2 Damage Dealers: Heroes that deal high damage to enemy team
- 1 Healer: Keeps your team alive during battles
- 1-2 Support/Control: Heroes that provide buffs, debuffs, or crowd control
Important Hero Wars Tip:
Focus on leveling up 5-7 heroes evenly rather than spreading resources across many heroes. A balanced team of fully upgraded heroes is much stronger than a large roster of under-leveled characters.

Titan Progression & Strategy
Titans are powerful entities used in specific game modes like the Dungeon and Guild Wars. They provide significant power to your account and are essential for guild activities. Towards the end game they can solve your gold income as infinite dungeon can yield billions! Long term investment is required for this however.
Titan Basics
There are four elemental types of Titans in Hero Wars:
- Fire Titans: High damage output, focus on offense (Moloch, Ignis, Vulcan)
- Water Titans: Control-oriented, can stun enemies (Sigurd, Nova, Mairi)
- Earth Titans: Tanky protectors with high health (Angus, Avalon, Sylvia)
- Super Titans: Powerful unique titans with special abilities (Araji, Hyperion, Eden, Solaris, Tenebris)
- Dark Titans: Powerful unique titans with special abilities (Brustar, Mort, Keros)
- Light Titans: Powerful unique titans with special abilities (Iyari, Amon, Rigel)
Titan Investment Priority
Recommended Titan Investment Order (Dungeon Efficient Team):
- Tank Titans (Angus, Sigurd):
Primarily focus on getting these two to a decent level across all attributes.
- Healers and Damage Dealers (Iyari, Araji, Hyperion):
They are needed to get 150 Titanite every day in the Dungeon.
- Support Titans (Nova, Eden, Avalon):
They are necessary to keep your main Titans alive in the Dungeon and for Guild Wars.
- Remaining Titans:
If you have the resources, focus on Solaris and Tenebris. Otherwise, just ignore them until the previously mentioned Titans are at a decent power level (75 000+ each)
Do not waste resources on these at the beggining: Vulcan, Sylva and Mairi
Titan Resources
Titans require specific resources for advancement:
- Titan Soul Stones: Used to summon and evolve titans
- Titan Potions: Used to level up titans
- Titan Artifact Fragments: Used to upgrade the star level of titan artifacts
- Fairy Dust: Used to upgrade titan artifacts
- Titan Spheres: Used to summon titan souls
Pro Titan Tip:
When upgrading Titans, prioritize getting 5-6 Titans to a high level rather than spreading resources across all Titans. A balanced team of Super Titans plus Earth Titans creates a strong foundation for guild activities.

Resource Management
Efficient resource management is the foundation of success in Hero Wars. Smart allocation of limited resources will significantly accelerate your progress.
Emeralds (Premium Currency)
As a free or low-spending player, prioritize using emeralds for:
- Energy: Purchase energy refills during events to maximize value
- Special Events: Save emeralds for high-value events like Black Friday or Christmas that offer best rewards
- Titan Spheres: Buy these during events that offer bonus Titan Soul Stones
- Outland Chests: Good source of skin stones during events
Daily Resource Collection:
Gold Management
Gold is one of the biggest bottlenecks in Hero Wars. Prioritize spending gold on:
- Hero Skills: Upgrade main skills for your core team first
- Hero Equipment: Craft and upgrade equipment for your main team
- Titan Artifacts: Upgrade main Titans' artifacts only as they will cost houndreds of millions of gold
- Star Upgrades: It will only cost 1 265 000 gold to upgrade a hero from nothing to ultimate star with the trick below:
Resource Management Tips:
Save 1 500 000 gold by not upgrading your heroes to max star immediately, only when you can buy an Evolution Booster with Guild Championship coins! Once you have a hero at 5 stars and with the required 300 soul stones to take them to the ultimate star, use the book on them! You will get all 1500 Guild Championship coins back, effectively bypassing the 1 500 000 gold cost.
Always save resources for events rather than spending immediately! Events offer bonus rewards that significantly increase the value of your resources. A little patience goes a long way!
